Casualties of War & New Years Resolution
So I was just eating a pastrami sandwich (on Rye with mustard) and thinking about why I am in on a Saturday Night. In my defense my GF is busy and without her sometimes I am lost. However, it is still not excusable so I got to thinking. Could it be that I like in a very nice area but one where my friends all moved away or got married? Could it be that I'm just that much of a loser?

Well, sure those are possible but my answer is that I feel like in the last few months the casualties of all of my power networking and being Mr. crazy entrepreneur, I forgot about my old friends, the ones that have nothing to do with business. Sure I could call friends I work with to go out but I go out so much during the workweek and see them so often that sometimes its nice to be around people where the conversation will not be about startups and financiering. Don't get me wrong some of my best friends now are startup folks but the point of the weekends is a break from all of that and a change of scenery. Because I've been so MIA on the personal front, I don't get called as often by my old friends to hang out. I've made a ton of very close new friendships lately as a result of my personal approach of always add value, overwhelm with introductions and always address people personally while separating them from their job that I forgot to keep in touch properly with everyone else.

That brings me to my new years resolution (thankfully we have cell phones and facebook to keep in touch with people now) that I want to rekindle my old relationships, I figure there's at least a dozen strong relationships that i've neglected buried in there somewhere and I want to get them all back and in full force.
